Freelance Medical Writer
I’ve always enjoyed writing. But when I got into pharmacy college, I knew I’ll have to stick to conventional pharmacy careers.
I never knew medical writing was a thing, let alone a full-fledged career choice.
I somehow got hold of freelance platforms and started freelance writing as a side gig in my third year of the PharmD program. Little did I know that what I was pursuing as a ‘side hustle’ could turn into a full-fledged medical writing career.
So when I graduated, I got a full-time job in the Quality Operations department of a pharmaceutical company.
I wasn’t freelancing anymore. No company in my country wanted to hire medical writers. There were no such positions! I was upset, but I needed work. So like everyone else, I, too, wanted a fixed salary in my account at the end of every month.
So I continued with my QO job.
The only part I enjoyed about my job was updating existing SOPs and creating new SOPs. That was how I could write, but it accounted for a mere 10% of my responsibilities as a QA person.
I wasn’t, at all, enjoying my typical, lackluster career as an industrial pharmacist.
And that’s when I started exploring freelance platforms once again:
It was 2016, and digital marketing was on the rise. Companies were going digital to sell their health care products, journal subscriptions, and marketing their telehealth clinics!
Freelance medical writers were in high demand. So I rolled up my sleeves and started applying to relevant projects matching my skill sets.
And the rest is history.
It was my fierce passion for medical writing and digital content creation that compelled me to quit my 9-5 job as a QA Pharmacist.
To date, I’ve worked with big-ticket clients and start-ups from around the world. From lifestyle blog posts to long-form articles, scientific and technical content, and affiliate content to website copies and digital course creation for the life sciences industry, I’ve done it all.
And I love every bit of it.
I believe content is the most powerful tool to entice, engage, and convert customers. Each piece of content that I create is aimed to communicate eloquently with my (and my clients’) audience.
Do you want to provide value to your audience in exchange for their priceless time? Let me leverage my writing skills to do that.
